Please make sure to send your child with a coat or jacket each day. We try to take the kids out daily for at least 10 minutes. Please see the email the county sent out about inclement weather. I will provide any weather related updates that are needed via Remind.
Highlights for class this week: Reading/ELA: We will continue our novel study of Peter Pan. We will focus more on written responses to the story over the next few weeks. We will also be focusing on comparing and contrasting texts. This weeks spelling will review comparative and superlatives adjectives from last week - test this Friday. Writing: We will finish our class generated opinion writing this week and the students will begin an opinion partner writing (which is better: cats or dogs). Math: We will continue working with fractions this week in math - really beginning to understand fraction on a number line. We will continue practicing written responses to math word problems. Science: Please see the Science Diorama project sheet that came home. Projects will be due February 11th. Social Studies: We will begin our unit on European Explorers with a guest speaker Monday.
