GA Milestones is this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Thanks to everyone who has donated testing snacks. Please make an effort to have students report to class on time that day.
Highlights for class this week: Reading/ELA: We will continue our novel study this week using the book One Well. We have been using the book to focus on main idea and using context clues to figure out the meaning of words. There is no spelling of Wordly Wise this week. Writing: Last week students created an informational writing. This week, we will begin a new narrative writing to include dialogue. This writing will be an introduction to our larger narrative writing that we will begin after the Milestones testing. Math: We will be reviewing everything we have learned in math this week. Some areas of weakness that have been observed include: area, perimeter, and the properties of multiplication (associative, commutative, and distributive). Social Studies: Last week we began our class economic unit. We discussed many economics vocabulary and learned what a budget is. We will continue to learn about spending and saving our money. Please see the orange sheet that came home last Friday.
